Avoid Covid, Wear a Mask

What is Covid-19?

An acute disease in humans caused by a coronavirus, which is mainly characterized by fever and cough and is capable of progressing to severe symptoms and in some cases death, especially in older people and those with underlying health conditions.

If this explanation about covid-19 doesn’t scare you, then what will?

Avoid Covid

“Covid-19” the biggest talk throughout the whole year of 2020 hasn’t lost its spotlight yet. Its’ repeated resurface is putting our lives at risk. Even though vaccinations seem to be effective Covid cases are still arising among both unvaccinated and vaccinated populations.

How do we avoid the spread?

When it comes to avoiding the spread of covid we all know that even “the frog in the well” knows the following steps to avoid the spread of covid by now. Which are,

*Social distancing (maintain a one meter distance between yourself and others)

*Stay at home

*Avoid touching your face

*Wash your hands frequently with soap for 20 seconds each time

*Wear a cloth mask, etc;

So, if we all know this then why is Covid still spreading?

“Negligence”

The biggest problem in todays’ society is that even though we know what to do, we don’t take action about it. Given the example of with the rise of Covid patients we see so many people without masks on the road and instead of making the public aware of the need to wear the mask we take our masks off.

It is time that we all know that asymptomatic patients(infected people who don’t have symptoms) and patients who are in the pre-symptomatic stage ( before showing signs of infection) can spread the virus. According to an estimate by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), up to 25% of those who have COVID-19 infection may not show any symptoms and feel fine. That’s why the CDC recommends wearing a cloth mask in public.

Even though we think wearing a mask is a hassle, we are actually protecting ourselves while saving many lives. So next time you wear a mask think of yourself as a hero. It is our duty to wear the mask in the most effective way to stop the spread.

Lets wear the mask in the right way

Here are the basics of how to wear a mask:

*Clean your hands before you put your mask on, as well as before and after you take it off, and after you touch it at any time.

*Make sure it covers both your nose, mouth and chin.

*When you take off a mask, store it in a clean plastic bag, and every day either wash it if it’s a fabric mask, or dispose of a medical mask in a trash bin.

*Don’t use masks with valves.

Wearing the mask properly not only protects us from covid-19 but other air-borne diseases also
